A happy New Year to All
We hope you and your family had a great Christmas and New Year……………It’s great to be in 2012 which is going to be a fantastic year for The Stable Company … it’s hard to know where to start. We hope you enjoy hearing our news and if you would like to know more please ask!
We ended 2011 with a great December which helped us attract six new volunteers and six new customers…. And the meat sales are going really well so we are helping Pam and Steve in return for the use of their field which we will be clearing and planting soon.
As we plan our exciting New Year we are busy getting our vehicles ready. Valerie Van and the little ford KA both need a service, MOT and some repairs. As we do not charge for delivery we are asking if you might think about making a donation towards these repairs, it will be a great help for the coming year and really take the pressure off the bank balance. If you would like to help us please pop something in an envelope marked “Van repairs “… Thank you!
We are now up and running with our “Friends of The Stable” face book page. If you are on face book please have a look and let us know what you think and if you like it please add it as a friend. Phoebe has really enjoyed setting this up and is keen to see it grow….
We are busy weighing and packing bird seed and pet products and are looking for places to take an honesty box. If you know anyone or anywhere that might take one please let us know… it’s a great way to keep our team busy and to raise funds.
We are also looking to find places that will help us by selling some of our products. If you would like to know more about how to help on this please give us a ring or call in to the Unit.
Along this line to increase our craft product sales we are setting up an Ebay shop, again with the aim to create more work for our volunteers and expand the range of things we make and pack.
More news to follow soon…
Kindest regards
Mike and all of The Stable team
November 2011
We hope you are well and enjoying our lovely seasonal vegetable boxes. Things have been getting really exciting here for us with many great changes, so many it’s hard to know where to start, we hope you enjoy hearing our news and if you would like to know more please ask!
We have had a grant which has enabled us to now employ some of our volunteers, by the end of November we hope to have created 11 jobs within the stable company, 3 have come off the unemployment list and 7 have jobs for the 1st time in their life!!
We have linked up with Steve and Pam who own the Burley Fields Lakes Butchers farm shop in Leckhampton, we will be using one of their fields to grow more of the veg in our boxes and we will also be able to offer you meat from their own farm delivered to your door with you veg box ! We would really like to thank them for their support and hope you give it a try, we have included a price list with this newsletter, it’s really great tasting meat and we can assure you that all of their produce is from their own farm, and if you want to know more or ask and questions please give Pam a ring on 07769700067 …. We will soon be clearing the field ready for planting and will keep you updated!!
We have saved the best to last , after 2 and a half years of searching we are going to have a new home , we are still sorting out the details , but it is in Cheltenham and is a day care centre which we will be working with and then expanding to double the number of volunteers we see each week , the centre will be our mini farm with everything we need, Including animals, land and a poly tunnel and when we are there we will be holding an open day , again if you would like to know more please ask
Ready for a new home and new volunteers we have decided to take the step to employ a part time sales manager to help us grow our trade in veg boxes ,n pet products and help us spread the word of our project , with this we welcome Julie to the team, if you know anywhere that might sell some of our products it would be a great help if you let us know
We are now looking at finding a better way of letting people know what we are doing so we have the idea of setting up a “friends of the stable” face book page, more details to follow soon…..
We are now working with Norman P Partridge Insurance services from Gloucester, they have sorted out some great cover for vehicles and have decided to support our project by sponsoring our vehicles, we thank them for their support and look forward to working with them more as we grow.
We have had some very kind support with our penny pots, we would like to thank those who have sent them back and please let us know if you would like another one, it’s a great help to us…..
We would also like to mention the village of Elkstone who invited us to attend there harvest supper, we were made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed there evening and some really great food, we had a great time talking about our work and we would like to thank them for their very kind donation of £257.00 which we are using to buy all of our seed !!!
Kindest regards and God Bless
Kind Regards
Mike and all of the stable team.
