Feed The Birds Feed Our Community Campaign

The Stable Company works with volunteers from all walks of life. 

Many have learning difficulties or physical disabilities. Over the winter months when the weather is unkind we find it difficult to visit our allotments. 

Therefore we are running an indoor activity which provides many challenges and promotes new skills for our volunteers.

These bags of bird seed were packed with love, care and attention by our band of merry helpers. We’ve had fun, a good laugh and plenty of tea and biscuits in the process. Not to mention we were sat in the warm and dry! 

One activity involves making simple bird perches from recycled wool and sticks. They are a big hit in local gardens. As you can see below, this baby tit thinks it's great fun!

Any money we make from the sale of these bags will be put towards the purchase of vegetable seeds for next years growing season. So you really will be feeding the community with your donation.

Our range of bird food includes 1KG bags of seed for £1, mixed corn is £1, peanuts are £1.50 and fat balls are three for £1. Also available are bird boxes for £5. And we now  have locally grown hay, straw and sawdust by the bag !!! 

These bird boxes are flat packed so we teach building and painting skills. We hope to expand into hedge hog boxes and bat boxes in the near future.
