We have desided to keep up with the times and we now have a friends of the stable facebook page, its going to be a great way of keeping update on all that we do, and follow us on our adventure. Burley Fields lake Farm Shop.
We are really happyto say we have linked up with Steve and Pam, they have a great farm shop in Leckhampton, they only sell meat from there own farm in there shop and it tastes really great too ! We now offer this to our customers delivered to there door with there veg box.... Please ask if you would like a price list... also they are letting us use one of there fields to grow our veg for next year, all will be oprganicly grown by us..
Apart from some great animals to see they also have fishing lakes , so well worth a visit. for More information you can talk to us or ring Pam on 07769700067.
Working with Local Schools.
We will be working with 4 local schools from next year, St Gregorys School, The National Star College, Bournside Special School and Dean Close School.
Its very exciting to work with these schools and expland in to new areas.
Beacons Creative Wales Ltd
We have now linked up with social enterprise in Wales who work with adults with learning difficulties to make candles and fire lighters.
We do egg candles at £1 each or 6 for £5.00 and the recycled fire lighters are £4 for a tray of 15....
The National Star College
We are now working with The National Star College were we ahve 3 students on work placement with us helping us with many tasks including recycling, bagging seed, making bird box and going out in the van to help with deliveries. We hope that with there time with these students will not just have jun but learn some new life skills too !
Cheltenham Animal Centre
We are now working with the animal centre, we are really pleased they now are collecting the dog food cans for us to recycle and in return we are giving them our out of date veg so instead of going to waste they are using it to cook up to help feed there animals and saving them some money too !!
Hayden Lane Allotments
We have a community allotment where we have placed four families to grow their own vegetables (and make new friends). This is working well and we hope to involve two more families in the next couple of weeks as we expand our plot there. We now have some raised beds and the share of a community poly tunnel and orchard to help us expand our children's activities, we have had great fun planting these up and they will soon be looking great! In return we are going to help with cutting the grass on the community lawn where they hold events such as BBQ's....... It's nice to be part of the work that Cheltenham Borough Council are doing on the site to improve the use of the area!
  
Swindon Village Allotments
Here are two large allotments where we take volunteers to grow and share vegetables. Its also working really well and with the help of Cheltenham Borough Council we have added 13 chickens, a large shed and greenhouse. We have busy tiding the plot up over winter and planted some crops to grow over winter.We are now busy making the best of the nice weather and planting them up, we have started to harvest our first crop of Rhubarb, with more things to follow soon!
Garden Services
This service is for local residents who would like their garden tidied and / or maintained. This is a chance to really get out and make a difference in our local community. Feed back on this service has been fantastic from both residents and volunteers. Again this provides fresh air, exercise and new skills. Without transport we have been taking small and local projects, but hopefully funding will allow us to have a van to transport our mowers etc and our volunteers. All work is charged at a suggested donation of £20 per hour.
Fruit snack and Vegetable Boxes
We are providing fruit snack boxes to the play ranger scheme run by the healthy living department of Cheltenham Borough Council and with their help and support we supply vegetable boxes to their funded projects all over Cheltenham. We are now more than happy to deliver these on a regular bases or as a one off! Please contact us of you would like a trial box so you can see what they are like ! |
